How to use a yes or no decision generator
Enter a question, choose an answer mode, and select “Decide randomly”. You can also leave the question blank; the text does not affect the random probability.
The default mode gives yes and no one weight each, so their configured probabilities match. In yes/no/maybe mode, all three options start with equal weights.
How yes/no/maybe weights work
With custom weights, an option's configured probability is its weight divided by the total weight of all active options. For example, yes=2 and no=1 gives about 66.67% and 33.33%.
Why a batch share may differ from its configured probability
Each result is generated independently. With only a few runs, the observed share can vary substantially; more runs usually bring it closer to the configured probability but never guarantee an exact match.
Limits and boundaries
Runs range from 1 to 10,000, each weight from 0 to 1,000, and the question is limited to 200 characters. At least two active answers must have a positive weight.
The page expands at most 100 sequence results; the rest still count in the full statistics. History keeps the 100 most recent actions and displays the latest 20.
Do not use this tool for medical, legal, financial, safety, gambling, regulated-drawing, or other decisions with serious consequences.
Tool information and sources
All computation happens in this browser. The question is not uploaded, and no third-party runtime API, CDN, web font, or local storage is used. Random integers use Web Crypto with rejection sampling.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use it without entering a question?
Yes. The question is only a note for the current choice and does not take part in the random calculation.
What does a weight of 0 mean?
An option with weight 0 cannot be selected. At least two active answers must have a weight above 0 for the random choice to remain meaningful.
Can it decide important things for me?
It is not recommended. A random answer cannot assess risk, facts, long-term effects, or professional requirements; use it only for low-stakes choices.
