How should I enter left and right patterns?
Put one pattern per line in each side's field. When patterns overlap, the longest matching one wins, so you do not need to order them by hand.
What does recursive removal handle?
It repeats the edge check after a match. With a # pattern, recursive mode removes all three marks from ###tag; without it, only the outermost mark is removed.
Will an unrelated symbol be deleted?
No. Only patterns you provide are candidates. Spaces and other separators stay in the text, and case matching can be turned off for letter patterns.
