Every frame is decoded and mirrored around the selected horizontal or vertical axis before the GIF is encoded again.
The frame order and timing stay the same; only the visual orientation changes.
Each decoded frame is rendered with a canvas transform: the selected axis is scaled by -1 and the frame is translated back into the output bounds.
Flipping does not rotate, crop, or correct perspective. Reducing the color count can change nearby tones.
Reading, decoding, transforming, and generating the result happen in this browser. Files are not uploaded or saved.
The output follows the GIF89a structure. Playback timing and color quantization can appear slightly different across players.
Horizontal flipping mirrors left and right; vertical flipping mirrors top and bottom. Both ways applies both axes.
No. The tool keeps frame order and delays, then re-encodes the mirrored pixels. Players can still display GIF timing slightly differently.
