Frame order and timing

The selected frame range is emitted from last to first. You can also reverse the delay sequence so the timing stays paired with the visual frames.

The preview is a quick check; compare the downloaded file in the player where it will be used.

Method and calculation

The selected frames are emitted in reverse order; when enabled, their delay values are reversed with the frame sequence so each visual frame keeps its paired timing.

Boundaries and limitations

Reversing changes frame order but does not invent intermediate motion. Very short delays may display differently across players.

Privacy and local processing

Reading, decoding, frame reordering, and result generation happen in this browser. Files are not uploaded or saved.

Format and standards

The output follows the GIF89a structure. Player behavior can differ for short delays, finite loops, and color quantization.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make a GIF play backwards?

Upload the GIF, choose the start and end frames, decide whether to reverse their delays, and process the selected range.

Should I reverse the frame delays too?

Enable delay reversal when the timing belongs with each visual frame and should move with it. Leave it off when you want the original delay slots to stay in place.

Is my GIF uploaded to a server?

No. The GIF is decoded, reversed, and encoded in this browser; the tool does not upload or store it.
